Pfc. David Jefferson, 23, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, died July 2, 2010, in Kandahar, Afghanistan, of injuries sustained when insurgents attacked his unit using an improvised explosive device. Pfc. Jefferson was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky. </d

Cpl. Larry D. Harris, Jr., 24, of Thornton, Colorado, died July 1, 2010, while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. Cpl. Harris was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California. </d
